Friendly Robotic Lawn Mower so you never have to Mow the Lawn Again

Friday 24th of July 2009 08:05:43 PM

mower

Since I first started showcasing gadgets here at GadgetGnome I think this one may be my favorite of all time, and maybe it will stay that way for as long as we keep showcasing gadgets here at gadgetgnome.

A robotic lawn mower! Unbelievable… and what a superb idea.  Maybe you can say I am lazy or just no fun, but I am just tired of mowing the lawn week in and week out.  I am just too busy to be mowing the lawn. Are you?  Don’t get me wrong, I like being outdoors and I like the smell of fresh grass.. But over the years mowing the lawn has just become a chore that I would rather not do (sort of like buying groceries.. by the way what’s worse, doing grocery shopping or mowing the lawn?!)

But have no fear! The robotic mower is here!  The Friendly Robotics RL1000 RoboMower and docking station is an electric lawn mower that mows for you all the time when you are busy doing other things.  No, it does not talk to you or tell you how nice you look this morning, but it mows your lawn while you are sipping margaritas on the back porch!

CC Wifi Radio Lets you Listen to 16,000 Radio Stations

Thursday 23rd of July 2009 08:10:38 PM

ccwifi

This is an innovative gadget radio that lets you tune into more than 16,000 radio stations around the world through the power of WiFi.

Perhaps you have travelled to many other countries before or you speak several languages.  This internet enabled radio lets you listen to news and other radio from all across the world easily.

I gotta tell you honestly I am a bit tired of just getting my news from MSNBC.  There are millions of other news organizations across the world with much broader perspective.  It seems this CC WiFi helps you tap into that source.  It has 99 memory presets a remote control, alarm clock and a WiFi Signal strength indicator. It does require a broadband internet connection.

TEAC DVD CD Duplicator for Effortless Copies

Thursday 23rd of July 2009 07:59:28 PM

p70926ab1

I actually own one of these so I thought it worthwhile to mention here on GadgetGnome dot com.

This is the TEAC CD DVD Duplicator.  It is a simple gadget that does one thing and does it very well.  Can you guess? Well I think you already know.  It duplicates CD’s and DVD’s without the need for a computer or software or all kinds of special equipment.

It is extremely easy to use.  All you have to do is pop the CD or DVD you want to copy in the unit, and then pop a blank disc in the other drive bay and then like magic it will automatically start copying your disc.  There is no need to fuss around with a computer or other configuration settings.  It is a quick no hassle way to make copies or backups of your favorite media on CD’s and DVD’s.  I have had zero problems with my unit and the copies have been flawless.  Actually I got one for my Mother because it is much easier for her to make copies using this unit.  She prefers more low tech type devices so this was the perfect fit.

Sound Terrain Rock Speaker Spices up your Backyard

Wednesday 22nd of July 2009 08:10:37 PM

(OERS82) OEM Systems Sound Terrain Rock Speaker

I was going to leave a blank subject line for this gadget and see if anyone could guess what this thing actually is.

Well the cat is out of the bag… and you know by now that this is a rock speaker that plays rock music… or actually any kind of music you wish to play on it (I was trying to be funny :) ).

From OEM systems, this rock speaker can be placed directly on ground or partially buried.  It has a stainless steel inner mesh to prevent bugs from getting inside it.  It has a sloped front design so that the sound field is directed upwards for better listening.

It has a 3/4” dome tweeter, 75 watts nominal power handling, 35–21,000Hz freq. response.

I like this outdoor rock speaker gadget.  Imagine how much fun you could have impressing your neighbors when you invite them into your backyard (assuming they like music).

Peek email PDA does one thing and does it really good

Wednesday 22nd of July 2009 07:20:55 PM

peek

I put this PEEK pseudo PDA/email reader in the senior gadgets category although some might not think this is not the best category for this device.

I put it in that category because this device is ergonomic, clear, easy to read and does it’s primary function very well.  It’s primary function? Sending and receiving email.

I suspect that there are a lot of senior citizens, students, and maybe even kids who do not want to bother with the hassle of regular PDA’s hundreds of features and seemingly endless options.

The fundamental power of email is clear.  Peek markets the device as potentially saving you $1000’s of dollars over other more fully featured PDA’s when you compare texting charges from mobile carriers.

Peek supports up to 5 email accounts including Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, Hotmail, AT&T, Comcast, Verizon, Roadrunner, BellSouth, SBCGlobal, Earthlink, Cox, Charter, Cablevision, NetZero, Mac, Optonline and many others.  My personal preference is Gmail.  I have been using Gmail for over 2 years now and I can tell you with zero doubt that it is by far ( in my opinion) the best web email client on the net today.

Icom MK1 in Dash Wireless Car Computer

Tuesday 21st of July 2009 11:10:26 PM

I have been wondering about a gadget like this for a long long time and I have to tell you honestly I cannot figure out why something like this is not mainstream yet all across the world!

I mean who doesn’t want an in dash computer so that you can easily browse websites while you are waiting in a traffic jam? I sure do and I wish they would make this a standard feature on most new cars.  Think about what it would do for the struggling automobile industry. It just seems like a great selling point to have full internet built in to the dash on your car instead of trying to fidget around with tiny cell phone screens and other wireless internet gadgets.
