Friendly Robotic Lawn Mower so you never have to Mow the Lawn Again

Friday 24th of July 2009 08:05:43 PM

mower

Since I first started showcasing gadgets here at GadgetGnome I think this one may be my favorite of all time, and maybe it will stay that way for as long as we keep showcasing gadgets here at gadgetgnome.

A robotic lawn mower! Unbelievable… and what a superb idea.  Maybe you can say I am lazy or just no fun, but I am just tired of mowing the lawn week in and week out.  I am just too busy to be mowing the lawn. Are you?  Don’t get me wrong, I like being outdoors and I like the smell of fresh grass.. But over the years mowing the lawn has just become a chore that I would rather not do (sort of like buying groceries.. by the way what’s worse, doing grocery shopping or mowing the lawn?!)

But have no fear! The robotic mower is here!  The Friendly Robotics RL1000 RoboMower and docking station is an electric lawn mower that mows for you all the time when you are busy doing other things.  No, it does not talk to you or tell you how nice you look this morning, but it mows your lawn while you are sipping margaritas on the back porch!

Sound Terrain Rock Speaker Spices up your Backyard

Wednesday 22nd of July 2009 08:10:37 PM

(OERS82) OEM Systems Sound Terrain Rock Speaker

I was going to leave a blank subject line for this gadget and see if anyone could guess what this thing actually is.

Well the cat is out of the bag… and you know by now that this is a rock speaker that plays rock music… or actually any kind of music you wish to play on it (I was trying to be funny :) ).

From OEM systems, this rock speaker can be placed directly on ground or partially buried.  It has a stainless steel inner mesh to prevent bugs from getting inside it.  It has a sloped front design so that the sound field is directed upwards for better listening.

It has a 3/4” dome tweeter, 75 watts nominal power handling, 35–21,000Hz freq. response.

I like this outdoor rock speaker gadget.  Imagine how much fun you could have impressing your neighbors when you invite them into your backyard (assuming they like music).

Run your Appliances with a Wind Generator

Wednesday 22nd of July 2009 07:37:52 PM

wind

Who would have thought that for almost the same price as a high definition Sony television you could own your own wind generator ?

Well I thought it interesting that this wind  generator was on the front page of Amazon dot com.  Amazing how far we have come, or have we?

I don’t see any homes nearby me using wind generators, but that is probably because there is barely any wind around here!  I used to live in Rochester New York near one of the great lakes and I can tell you from experience there was a lot more wind there to make use of a gadget like this.

This wind generators is the Sunforce 12 Volt 400 Watt version.  It is made if light weight weather proof cast aluminum and has a fully integrated regulator that automatically shuts down when the batteries are completely charged.  Maximum power is up to 400 watts or 27 amps.  It measures 15x9x27 inches.  But the question remains who is likely to get the most use out of such a device like this?

I would have to say it really only makes sense for those who live near the ocean or large lakes where it tends to be windy most of the time.  The last thing you would want to happen is go through all the trouble of installing this thing and then end up with only 1/8th of the year’s days having any adequate wind.

HomeLink Wireless Control System Gadget for Motorcycles

Tuesday 21st of July 2009 09:31:49 PM

homesignal

The homelink wireless control system is basically a wireless garage door opener on steroids.  You can mount this little device on your motorcycle handlebars and then just with the flick of a switch open your garage door, your home or office gates, or even turn on the lights in your house.  Seems to me like this is the ultimate bachelor type gadget!  A nice way to arrive home in style!
