Today, after much anticipated buildup, Taser Corp has released their newest taser stun gun, the TASER X3. The X3 is different from the other line up stun guns in that this one is able to deliver a multi shot electronic control device enabling it to engage multiple targets.

The X3 also displays a quite obvious warning arc to gain compliance of would be bad boys before having to deploy any charges. This taser gun has the ability to simultaneously stop up to three people with a single unit.

This taser gadget really looks outstanding. But more than that, it just looks like it has an ergonomic design. It looks impressive. I would really hate to stare down the barrel of one of these things. Tip… if a cop ever tells you to get down on the ground, just do it… Otherwise they might pull one of these puppies out.

Taser claims that this device is and I quote, “the most intelligent hand-held force option ever developed”. That is quite a profound statement. I have a feeling we are going to be seeing a lot more of these in the not too distant future.

I would have never thought of an entire house as a gadget, but this one sure does come close. I wonder where they sleep in that thing? Maybe if they got rid of all those books they could sleep vertically in that space. Hmmm. I think I would rather have a tent than a little wooden house like this. But I suppose the one big advantage to having a house like this is the portability factor. Don’t like where you live? No problem, simply put that thing in the back of your pickup truck and settle down somewhere else… hmmm.

I actually own one of these so I thought it worthwhile to mention here on GadgetGnome dot com.

This is the TEAC CD DVD Duplicator. It is a simple gadget that does one thing and does it very well. Can you guess? Well I think you already know. It duplicates CD’s and DVD’s without the need for a computer or software or all kinds of special equipment.

It is extremely easy to use. All you have to do is pop the CD or DVD you want to copy in the unit, and then pop a blank disc in the other drive bay and then like magic it will automatically start copying your disc. There is no need to fuss around with a computer or other configuration settings. It is a quick no hassle way to make copies or backups of your favorite media on CD’s and DVD’s. I have had zero problems with my unit and the copies have been flawless. Actually I got one for my Mother because it is much easier for her to make copies using this unit. She prefers more low tech type devices so this was the perfect fit.

There is nothing like sitting on cold stadium bleacher stands at your kids football or soccer game especially when fall comes around and it is back to school season.

These Lava Buns solve that problem whether you area looking to stay either warm or cool.

Simply microwave the microcore element for less than 5 minutes and place it inside the Lava Bun seat cushion. Then you can sit comfortably for hours no matter where you are… at home, at your kids next soccer or football game, or simply right in your car seat in the middle of the winter.

These seem like an outstanding alternative to heated car seats. I think heated car seats should be a standard feature up here in the Northeast, but until that happens these Lava Buns would probably be just as good.

Yello is one of Germany’s 10 largest energy companies. They worked with IDEO (An ergonomic design firm) to develop an easy to understand electricity meter that makes personal energy consumption more tangible to users.

Meter data is sent to Yellow via Internet and can be accessed by customers with a piece of software that displays among other things the total energy usage in watts, kilowatt hours, or even Euros (the European currency). Customers can then make energy and money saving choices for both short and long term energy usage. Being able to see visually how much energy is being used by home appliances (from washing machines to driers to refrigerators to stoves) is a very useful feature if you ask me.

My question is once again, how come this type of product is not mainstream yet across multiple USA power companies? Well maybe it is more mainstream than I know about right now. But my power company here National Grid does not have such a feature or product. But I would love a energy measuring system such as this! Over time substantial cost savings could be realized if people just understood in visual form how much juice their household is actually using on an item by item basis.

But maybe power companies have a vested interest in not providing too much information about how much energy they are using? They stand to make more profit the more electricity you use. All of this may change when power companies start offering internet service through the power outlets in your house. Maybe then it will allow them to offer more complete service packages along with high speed internet?

I have been trying to think where or how I would use a waterproof night vision scope gadget like this and the only thing I can think of is when I am out fishing late at night.

I suppose if I was out vacationing somewhere in the Brazilian jungle maybe it would come in handy there, but other than that I can’t seem to think of a good use for this gadget.

Maybe you have a more adventurous or exciting life than I do and can think of some good ways where or how you could use this night vision gadget, but I can’t. Anyway if you think of a good scenario or environment where you might have fun with something like this let me know.

The next time you see a very attractive woman at the mall or somewhere else and contemplate walking up to her and asking her out you might want to have a look at her ring finger and see if you see a ring that looks similar to the ones here pictured to the left.

They are not just for women actually. Anyone can wear these rings. Inside the ring is hidden the strongest pepper spray formula available. It has the highest heat rating of 2 million SHU’s (jalapeno pepper has 5000 SHU’s) which severely affects the mucous membranes, eyes and respiratory systems.

This is not permanent injury but enough to disorient an attacker for enough time to get away. The ring has an effective range of 12 inches.

Here is how it works. You put this ring on your index finger and then make a fist and press that little button on the side of the ring to release the pepper spray.

I like this stun gadget as a self defense device for women because this one is much less obvious and much easier to deploy in an emergency situation. It is much better than those pepper spray canisters that would typically need to be stored in your pocket or pocket book.

This one allows you to just point your hand at the attackers face and zap them. Heck it probably is not a bad idea to have one of these on each hand!

Do you like swimming? or should I say do you LOVE swimming? Well if you do then you may be interested in this pool mate lap watch.

I like swimming a little bit, but I am not a fanatic about it. When I go swimming I usually go just to cool off or maybe do a few laps and enjoy the experience. But every time I have made an attempt to do some serious swimming exercise routine (doing lots of laps) I always have a hard time remembering how many laps I have done.

I am not sure if it is because I get all disoriented or dizzy from turning back and forth for each new lap or if I am just too lazy to try and remember counting how many laps I have done.

Well now that task can be made a lot easy with this pool mate lap and stroke counter watch gadget for swimmers.

The pool mate automatically recognizes each swim stroke and change of lap so you do not have to count anymore.

It displays lap count, time, average strokes per lap, speed, distance, calories and efficiency. It records up to 99 sets or in other words 99 different swimming routines so you can keep track of how you are doing over time.

The pool mate is not available for sale yet according to their website, so for now you will just have to settle for other types of swimming watches.

Apparently they are also working on a new watch which will allow you to download and keep track of all your data on your own computer as well.

Have you seen any episodes of that TV series COPS lately? Well I actually enjoy watching that series a lot. I think it is great reality television and a lot more interesting than many other reality shows.

The reason I bring it up is because a lot of times on that show you will see cops using their taser guns to stun criminals. There has been a lot of controversy over the use of these stun guns but the company TASR is still in business and innovating as well. This new product they just came out with is called the XREP.

Basically it does the same thing as their original TASR guns, essentially incapacitating the would be criminal with an electric shock. However this shotgun has a significantly longer maximum range of 100 feet.

The battery supply is integrated into the projectile and gives sufficient power for it to reach the maximum range. The projectile generates the neuro muscular incapacitation (NMI) for 20 straight seconds. As the chassis breaks apart, six electrodes are activated to deliver the shock over a greater body mass.

Now I don’t know about you, but just the look of those electrodes has me thinking that I DO NOT want to be on the wrong side of the law anytime soon! Talk about having a bad day. Geez. Don’t run from the law if you don’t want to be on the receiving end of this thing.

Smart Swipe is a rather simple gadget that basically lets you buy things online without having to type in your credit card numbers and submit them to the sites you like to shop at. Instead what you do is scan your credit card in this credit card reader which is then attached to your computer via usb.

So basically you get that same feeling of swiping your credit cards in brick and mortar retail stores. As they describe it:

SmartSwipe works by encrypting the personal information of the card holder — card number, name, address — before it gets to the computer so it is encrypted throughout its trip across the Internet to the merchant’s bank and is neither stored on the bank’s computer network or the merchant’s.

Well I suppose this device comes in handy to those still too paranoid about buying products online. But I wonder how many people will actually buy this product online by typing in their credit card numbers since these are the people who are most suspicious of online shopping safety? Hmmm.

A friend of mine as well as my father are both still afraid of doing any online transactions… It amazes me how some people are still afraid of it. I am not saying that it is guaranteed, but there are riskier and worse things that can happen to you in life than someone getting your credit card number. Plus, even if someone does get your credit card number, you are protected against unauthorized charges from most credit card agreements.

Fear not! The Smart Swipe Credit Card Reader is here!
