Panasonic Water Proof Shock Proof and Dust Proof Camera

Thursday 23rd of July 2009 02:45:16 PM

panasoniccameraThis might be one of the best looking video cameras I have ever seen. But it is more than just a pretty face. It is a multi function video camera from Panasonic that is water proof, shock proof and dust proof.  Designed for video camera enthusiasts on the go, the Panasonic SDR-SW21D makes it easy to shoot video at either high or low angles and you can easily adjust the angle of the LCD monitor for comfortable viewing no matter how you are holding the camera.

It has a 10X Zoom with image stabilization and a YouTube uploader.  This camera records via a 32GB SD Card.  It is waterproof down to 2 meters below water, even sea water and shock proof to withstand a 1.2 meter drop.

The power is automatically turned on or off as soon as the LCD is opened or closed and recording begins almost immediately.

I love this camera. It looks good and seems durable enough for that summer vacation trip to the Atlantic (or Pacific :) ) beaches.

Sanyo Aircam Surround View System Gadget

aircam

Have you ever driven a large moving van or other large vehicle and been really paranoid when making turns or backing up your vehicle?  Well Sanyo’s Aircam helps to ease that paranoia by providing an almost 360 degree viewing angle around your large vehicle.

Through the use of 4 separate cameras you can get a complete 360 degree birds eye view around your large camper, bus or other vehicle. This gadget is really mostly meant for large commercial vehicles and buses, but hey, why not try to implement it on your oversize Hummer or SUV?  It sure would be nice to have a surrounding view of your entire vehicle no matter what the size, especially for us gadget lovers.  It is just one of those gadgets that may not be absolutely necessary, but how many gadgets actually are?  Having one of these in my large truck or SUV would make me feel more like a pilot instead of a driver…know what I mean?

Slim Video Pen

Tuesday 14th of July 2009 07:39:09 PM

videopenWho would have thought?  That you can include a tiny little video camera INSIDE a pen.

Well it is true and this one lets you record up to 7.5 hours of video at a time and sound as well.  Just press the top of the pen to start recording.

It has 2 gigabyte of internal memory, 736×576 video resolution and an internal rechargeable battery via USB.

Ohhhhh the possibilities.  Just put this one in your shirt pocket and do your thing, your daily business and who knows what you might capture on video.

This is just such a sneaky gadget! But is it the sneakiest?  I am not so sure. It is in the sense that it could remain pretty close to eye level when doing the filming.  But wait a second, from the photo above it appears as though the camera lens is on the same side as where the clip is.  So if it is in your shirt pocket the camera will be facing you?! I am not sure why they set it up that way.  It would be a lot better if the camera did the recording on the opposite side of the clip so that if it clipped into your shirt pocket you could record lots of things at eye level, or slightly below eye level !! (hmm I wonder what that might be :) )
