Teac DVD CD Duplicator

The Teac DVD CD Duplicator is ideal for those who like to have backup or spare copies of their DVD's and CD's for sharing or gifts to others. The unit makes quick and easy copies almost effortlessly without having to fuss around with a desktop computer.

I actually own one of these so I thought it worthwhile to mention here on GadgetGnome dot com.

This is the TEAC CD DVD Duplicator.  It is a simple gadget that does one thing and does it very well.  Can you guess? Well I think you already know.  It duplicates CD’s and DVD’s without the need for a computer or software or all kinds of special equipment.

It is extremely easy to use.  All you have to do is pop the CD or DVD you want to copy in the unit, and then pop a blank disc in the other drive bay and then like magic it will automatically start copying your disc.  There is no need to fuss around with a computer or other configuration settings.  It is a quick no hassle way to make copies or backups of your favorite media on CD’s and DVD’s.  I have had zero problems with my unit and the copies have been flawless.  Actually I got one for my Mother because it is much easier for her to make copies using this unit.  She prefers more low tech type devices so this was the perfect fit.

It makes a copy in roughly 3 minutes or less depending on the length of the CD or DVD.

Advantages of the Teac DVD CD Duplicator:

  • Quick easy copies with very easy operation.
  • No need to boot up your desktop computer.
  • When finished the duplicated CD or DVD pops out of the tray.
  • Copies are verified for accurate duplication.
  • Great for 'non techie' types

Disadvantages of the Teac DVD CD Duplicator:

  • Somewhat heavy unit and large size.
  • Possibly becomes obsolete when DVDs and CDs become archaic ?

The problem with most technology has always been how quickly it becomes obsolete. CDs and DVDs have been around for quite a long time. But now we are seeing music and data typically stored on much smaller 'flash memory' drives. It may just be a question of when major computer companies stop supporting CDs and DVDs if the flash memory becomes inexpensive enough. But for now CDs and DVDs will probably still have their place in every home.
