Is there really any need for a USB Chain saw gadget? One would think at first that there could never be a need for such a gadget unless you work in the construction or outdoor criminal justice fields. I am sure someone somewhere will find a need for such a gadget eventually.

Is your co worker in the cubicle next to you getting on your nerves?  Are your office meetings becoming a bit too ‘stale’ and in need of something ‘different’ to get creative ideas flowing again?

Well have no fear because now you can connect this chainsaw to the USB port on your laptop and start sawing away..or er um hacking away? But seriously why in the world does the world need such a gadget like this? I suppose if you are like that AT&T laptop guy who has his laptop connect card and he is in the middle of the Colorado Rockies he could use this USB chainsaw to cut some trees down to make firewood?

Humpf! I had to put this one in the funny gadgets category because well it is just too funny they even went through the trouble of designing something like this!

This type of gadget probably has a lot of merit as a desk piece for a famous lumberjack or executive who likes a nice talking piece on his desk.

Advantages of the USB Chain Saw Gadget:

  • A great conversation piece at the office or at home
  • simple clean design and straight forward power source
  • It cuts and does so quite well!
  • small and light

Disadvantages of the USB Chain Saw Gadget:

  • Not useful for major heavy duty cutting jobs
  • Reliance on USB power means lower source power and limited cutting ability

Certainly one of the most unusual gadgets I have ever heard of.

And for the fun of it how about the top ten reasons you need a USB Chainsaw ?

  1. To fend off that groundhog that has been hiding under your deck
  2. A conversation piece when you are at a loss for words.
  3. Because it is simply cool man.
  4. It looks and sounds good.
  5. A deterent for the would be laptop thief.
  6. A quick haircut when going to the salon is too cumbersome.
  7. Gas powered chainsaws just do not make the 'cut'.
  8. Mini chainsaws are fun.
  9. The need for unlimited gadgets.
  10. Because the wife says you do not need one.
